Tidy Home Lab provides general information about cleaning, laundry, organizing, decluttering and everyday home care. A guide can help you plan a task, but it cannot inspect the particular material, appliance or building in your home.
Apply instructions to the actual item
Check the manufacturer’s instructions, garment care label and cleaning-product label before using a method. Finishes, coatings, construction, equipment settings and storage requirements can differ even when two items look similar.
Use only compatible products and processes. Follow any testing, rinsing, contact-time, ventilation and protective-equipment instructions. Do not combine cleaning chemicals or improvise stronger concentrations.
Work within safe access and experience
Routine household care should remain within the access, tools and experience available to you. Use appropriate help for heavy objects, difficult access, unfamiliar equipment or a task that requires a qualified professional.
Electrical and gas work, structural issues, concealed leaks, major water damage and other potentially hazardous problems require appropriate assessment. An ordinary cleaning checklist should not delay a necessary service or emergency response.
Understand examples and limits
Time budgets, layouts and checklists are editorial examples to adapt to your circumstances. They are not a guarantee of completion time, cost savings, equipment performance or a specific result.
References support particular points within a guide. A source or a manufacturer example does not mean that every product or item allows the same process. If information seems inconsistent with your item’s instructions, seek clarification before continuing.
Report a concern
If an instruction is unclear or you believe an article needs a correction, send the URL and the relevant point through our Contact page. Include a supporting source where possible so the issue can be reviewed.
